Celebrating a rich history of industry-firsts, Alienware is commemorating 20 years of innovation in the PC gaming space this year. All of us at AMD are excited as our technology partnership expands with Radeon™ graphics offered across current and upcoming Alienware designs as first announced at E3.

You will be seeing more and more Radeon-powered Alienware systems being featured at events, including our recent NerdHQ activation a couple of weeks ago during Comic-Con in San Diego, California, where fans were able to preview and play the much anticipated Battlefield 1 game from EA on Alienware Area 51 systems. The excitement also included a contest where a lucky winner was awarded a new Alienware Aurora R5 equipped with a pair of Radeon™ RX 480 graphics cards!

Alienware has some exciting news while Gamescom is in full swing this week across the Atlantic in Cologne, Germany. Alienware announced to a crowd of delighted fans at the AMD/HTC booth (Hall 10.1, booth B080) that Radeon™ RX 480 is available in the Aurora gaming desktop PC as of August 17. Alienware PCs with Radeon graphics are driving key demos in the booth, and Alienware is sponsoring a special event on all three days of Gamecom featuring Twitch superstar MissRage. Contestants lucky enough to get a chance to play against MissRage will be using Alienware Aurora PCs equipped with Radeon™ RX 480 graphics.

Do a quick internet search on “Alienware Aurora” and you will see a plethora of positive reviews for this iconic gaming PC. The Tech Radar review sums it up nicely: “The Alienware Aurora R5 is a revolutionary gaming desktop that puts other pre-built PCs to shame with a smaller, clever chassis and surprisingly affordable price.”

Alienware Aurora can be configured with up to two Radeon™ RX 480 graphics cards, made easier with innovative tool-less design that enables ultimate flexibility. Start with a single Radeon RX 480 GPU configuration — an amazing value for Oculus and HTC capable VR Ready Premium graphics and beyond HD AAA gaming — and add a second Radeon RX 480 GPU in the future for even more performance.
